The bed can accomodate up to a 12-inch (30cm) mattress and is supported by euroslats, so no box spring necessary. When you want to reclaim that floor space for exercise, work, play, etc, the RoomBed's patented piston engine allows the bed to be easily lifted completely up and out the way, so you can make the most of your home's square footage. Yes! The dual-stage pistons help support the weight of the bed when you lift and lower the bed.
If you have standard baseboards, you do not need to remove them before installing the RoomBed. However if you have thick decorative baseboard moldings, they will need to be removed behind the bed for the bed to be installed correctly.
Yes. RoomBeds require six attachment points to the wall, and 3 of the 6 must be into wall studs. This is required for the bed to be installed safely.
Yes. You can leave the sheets and blankets on the bed (so long as they aren't incredibly bulky), and the pillows can be strapped to the end of the bed to keep them off the floor.
